Izidora Angel is a Bulgarian-born memoirist, essayist and literary translator based in Chicago. Her writing has appeared in A Public Space, Astra Magazine, Best Literary Translations 2024, Chicago Reader, Electric Literature, Gulf Coast and elsewhere. Izidora’s work has been recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, English PEN, Art Omi, the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation and Bread Loaf, among others. Her translation of Rene Karabash’s She Who Remains won a PEN/Heim Translation Fund Grant and the Gulf Coast Prize in Translation and is forthcoming from Sandorf Passage in early 2026. Izidora was a Sozopol Seminars fellow for her in-progress memoir, Solomon’s Daughter.
